Anchor Center for Blind Children

May 10, 2016 Written by kidscompassionproject

We are proud to have had the chance to support this amazing organization located in Stapleton.  The mission of the Anchor Center for Blind Children (ACBC) is to teach visually impaired infants, young children and their families, providing hope and nurturing environment   where children reach their highest potential.

Anchor Center graciously offered to host our Kids’ Compassion Project event at their center.  Participants were given the opportunity to have an up close look into this wonderful organization and give our kids a very unique hands on experience.

Participant experiences included:

  • Tour of the Anchor Center – What do they do?
  • Decorate luggage tags and lunch bag tags (these label the bags for the ACBC kids to take home)
  • Cut fabric squares for tactile quilts (Every ACBC family is given a quilt for their student)
  • Organize Little Room toy bags that are distributed to new ACBC families
  • Cleaning toys
